What's Unique About Couples in Orange County
Many couples in Orange County have built wonderful lives together—but those lives have become incredibly full. Careers are demanding, children require constant attention, calendars are packed, and by the end of the day there's very little left to give one another. What once felt effortless now feels like another item on the to-do list.
Many couples don't come to therapy because they're fighting constantly. They come because they've slowly become roommates instead of partners. They still care deeply for one another but miss the friendship, affection, and sense of partnership they once had.
Over time, even healthy relationships can begin to feel disconnected when life's responsibilities consistently take priority over the relationship itself. Couples often come to me because they miss each other. They still love one another, but they don't feel as emotionally connected, understood, or supported as they once did. Others come during a crisis—after infidelity, addiction, secret-keeping, or another breach of trust—and aren't sure whether their relationship can recover.

Navigating Challenges Together
Life can present a myriad of challenges- job changes, moves, financial stress, aging parents, parenting children, managing a home, owning a business, getting a promotion with a lot more responsibility, and the list goes on. These challenges can throw our relationships for a loop, as they can trigger significant stress. Stress doesn't just affect individuals—it affects the relationship itself. One partner may withdraw while the other pursues. One may become irritable while the other shuts down. Without realizing it, couples begin reacting to stress instead of responding to one another with curiosity, empathy, and teamwork.
Therapy helps you understand these patterns so you stop seeing each other as the problem and start working together against the problem.
When You’re Unhappy in Your Relationship & Seeking Improvement
Every healthy relationship encounters conflict. The difference isn't whether problems arise—it's how couples respond to them. Research consistently shows that couples who know how to repair after conflict build stronger, more resilient relationships over time. Being able to recover from issues in your relationship is shown to deepen love, connection, intimacy, and longevity of relationships. The key isn’t to avoid problems, but to respond appropriately. Together we'll identify the cycle you've become stuck in—not just what you're arguing about, but what happens before, during, and after conflict. Once we understand the pattern, we can begin changing it one step at a time.

Recovering from Infidelity
Another topic I️ help couples work through is recovery from infidelity. Every couple responds differently to infidelity. Some decide the relationship has reached its end, while many others genuinely want to rebuild but don't know where to begin. They are scared of getting hurt again or that the cheating will recur. They have lost trust in their partner and are often struggling to trust themselves thinking, “How did I️ not see this?” Or “How could I️ have chosen someone who would do this?”.The person who cheated is sometimes remorseful but doesn’t feel forgiven, feels isolated and alone not sure where to share how they feel, is afraid of others’ judgement, and/or losing their partner or family. They sometimes are struggling with their identity of accepting that they committed this action and harmed their partner. These fractures cut deep and leave both parties in shambles- unable to support themselves or each other.
Rebuilding trust isn't about pretending the betrayal never happened. It's about understanding why it happened, creating genuine accountability, rebuilding emotional safety, and allowing trust to be earned again over time. While the process is difficult, many couples ultimately report having a relationship that is more honest, intentional, and emotionally connected than before. With therapy we address all the layers of this complex issue and help couples first decide if the relationship is something they want to salvage, and if they do, then we work on identifying deeper long-standing relationship issues, patterns of relating/managing the relationship, forgiveness and authentic repair.
My Unique Approach
My approach is warm, practical, and highly collaborative. I don't believe couples need another person telling them who's right or wrong. Instead, I help both partners feel heard while identifying the patterns that keep them stuck.
Together we focus on practical tools you can begin using immediately—not only to communicate differently, but to rebuild friendship, emotional safety, trust, and connection outside of therapy. I️ want you laughing together, enjoying one another, genuinely admiring each other, having a deep friendship and create shared meaning together.
I also use Feedback-Informed Therapy to regularly measure how therapy is working so we can make adjustments along the way. My goal is for you to leave sessions with greater clarity, practical strategies, and confidence that your relationship is moving in the right direction.
